Art and Deb’s interest in photography blossomed over 20 years ago during a family trip to Australia. Their passion for both travel and photography continued to grow. Once retired from their careers, they are living their dream to travel and capture their experiences through photography.

Their travels have taken them through North, Central and South America, The Galápagos Islands, Europe, and Asia.  Domestic road trips include Utah & Arizona, Route 66, Louisiana, West Virginia, Maine (complete with puffins), the Oregon Coast, and Covered Bridges from Maryland to the Finger Lakes of New York.  Art and Deb are members of the Northern Virginia Photographic Society.

Art and Deb have presented to camera clubs on their Route 66 Road Trip, and numerous photo galleries of their travels. Deb has presented on Photo Alchemy: changing and transforming photos in creative and artistic ways, and Why Print: The importance of printing your photographs. Deb developed an interest in photography as a young child as her father always had a camera on their family travels. Her favorite times to take photos are at sunrise capturing the ocean sky, waking wetlands or forests. Deb enjoys all types of photography including wildlife, landscape, night sky and travel. An avid creator in watercolor painting and mandala drawing, she combines her creativity with her photographs to create artistic photos in a process she calls “Photo Alchemy”. Deb enjoys writing and sharing photos about their travels, road trips and photo experiences on their Travel Blog, Boarding Group 2.

Art developed his interest in photography as a teenager. He found that he enjoyed the process of making photographs, and even built a small dark room in his closet. Through the years his photography has evolved to include wildlife, abstracts, travel, and sports, including capturing Washington Capital practices. Art enjoys working in post processing to create realistic composites and impart a range of dramatic looks to his photos.
